Autumn has arrived in Maryland! The temperatures get cooler and the air gets crisper. The kids are back in school, and summer vacation is only a great memory. But the end of summer does not have to mean the end of fun! Here are some great things to do right here in Harford County!

Amazing Glaze

Amazing Glaze is a creative place for children and adults. It is a great place for birthday parties or just a family outing. For a studio fee and the purchase of your pottery piece, a child (or grownup) can create a unique and special keepsake. All supplies are provided, and the artist can pick up their creation five days after painting it. During that time, the piece is dipped in clear glaze and fired. Anita C. Leight Estuary Center

The Estuary Center is a research and education center dedicated to increasing appreciation and understanding of estuaries. Annie’s Playground

Annie’s Playground started as a living memorial to a beautiful little girl whose life ended much too soon. But, to the children who play there it is a fun place to play, swing, climb, and run. It is a place to meet friends and enjoy the outdoors. Annie would have liked that.

Brad’s Farm Market

Anyone who has visited the Bel Air Farmers’ Market will recognize Brad’s Produce. While Brad’s is a great place to get fresh produce through the summer, it is also a wonderful autumn destination. This is a great place to pick up your fall flowers and late veggies! Broom’s Bloom Dairy

Broom’s Bloom is a working dairy located on a farm that dates back to the early 1700’s. The ninth generation of the Dallam family now own the farm and sell cheese, sausage and delicious lunch items. You may be tempted to start with dessert! Their old-fashioned ice cream has been voted best in Harford County for the last 10 years.

Churchville Golf Center

A round of miniature golf is a great way to enjoy the last warm days of fall. Churchville Golf Center offers two 18-hole courses to challenge even the most competitive mini golf player. The” Original course” allows you to play among animals, bowling pins, and even a pirate ship! The “Challenge course” offers water hazards and dog legs. Golfers who prefer to play on a larger course can work on their game at the driving range and baseball and softball players can stay in shape in the batting cages. Jurassic Golf

If you prefer your golf indoors, you might want to check out Jurassic Golf. This is Harford County’s first and only indoor, Blacklight mini golf course. The course is a dinosaur-themed 18 holes including a T-Rex stomping grounds with sound effects and CGI to enhance the experience. They have daily specials for age groups and players in pj’s! Rock State Park

To see nature put on her fall wardrobe, there are few places better than Rocks State Park. There are 855 acres of woods and rocks rising above Deer Creek. Some of the hiking trails are probably better left to bigger, more experienced hikers and climbers, but there are beautiful walks and picnic areas that are perfect for a family outing. Stop by the Nature Exploration area located in the Rock Ridge picnic area for children’s activities.

Steppingstone Museum is a place for children to learn about Harford County and the people who lived and farmed here. Come for Scavenger Hunt Saturdays. Pick up a scavenger hunt in the mercantile shop and complete it for a chance to win tickets to a Steppingstone special event.
